About the Author
Bob Gottfried, Ph.D.,
a Neuro-cognitive specialist, has spent the last dozen years helping cognitively impaired people – suffering effects of aging, stress, stroke, head or brain injuries or depression – recover their mental abilities. Currently he serves as the clinical director of Advanced Wellness Programs and Advanced Cognitive Enhancement (ACE) clinics in the Toronto area as well as a consultant for the Canadian Centre for Integrative Medicine and Global Health Management.
Dr. Gottfried’s attitude toward helping others shows in the fact that patients call him “Dr. Bob.” He says, “I never sit on the other side of the desk when doing therapy work. I sit side by side with the patients and make sure they know that I am going to work with them until we get the desired results. Likewise, I’ve written the manual for this course so that you will feel as if I am sitting by your side and guiding you through the process.”
Many of his patients had been told that they would have to adjust to their difficulty in remembering or in performing other mental tasks, only to improve significantly with the techniques collected and published together for the first time in Dr. Gottfried’s memory course.
Dr. Gottfried holds a Ph.D. in counseling psychology, and he is a member of The Society for Behavioral Medicine, The Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine and The Association of Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback.
